Image Ramon V. Sanchez,MD, is a psychiatrist serving the greater San Antonio area. Dr. Sanchez is Cheif of the Psychiatry Department at Southwest General Hospital. He also is a perceptor for nurse practitionaer students from the University of Texas Health Science Center.

A native to Houston, Texas Dr. Sanchez earned his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and then completed residency training in combined family medicine and psychiatry at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Sanchez also served as cheif of the residency program there. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.

Dr. Sanchez has been in private practice at the Rosa Verde Towers for five years. His practice includes a certified psychiatry nurse practitioner and a PhD prepared clinical therapist. In addition, Dr. Sanchez cares for patients with chronic schizophrenia in residential and personal care homes in San Antonio and surrounding areas. His training, background, and experience have given him an appreciation for the challenges and obstacles facing patients suffering from mental illness. Dr. Sanchez practice primarily includes diagnosis and management of adults with mood disorder, paranoid disorder, and children with ADHD.

Dr. Sanchez is certified by the american board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
