Image IWRC is dedicated to empowering clients with the ability to improve health risk and gain lifestyle balance through individually developed and innovative disciplines that address the mind, body and soul.

Eagle Applied Sciences, LLC proudly announces the opening of their newest division, the Integrative Wellness & Research Center, located at 225 E. Sonterra Blvd, Medical Plaza II. Eagle has been operating in San Antonio for the past three years, under the leadership of Dr. Guy Banta, Ph.D., MPH, providing medical and scientific support to numerous governmental agencies.

Dr. Banta; veteran, scientist, and businessman, boasts numerous accomplishments in biomedical and bench research with technical expertise in human cognitive and physiological responses related to human performance.

At the heart of IWRC is Dr. Karen Fox, MD, MPH, supervising Medical Director. Lastly, a dedicated research laboratory is currently in the beginning stages, to further enhance the diagnostic needs such as lipid profiles and diabetic screening of patients within the center; as well as, expand medically related wellness research within the community. This effort will be chartered by Dr. Lisa Lott, Ph.D., Eagle’s Chief Scientist.

The IWRC offers a number of preventive and wellness programs for its clientele including cardiovascular and fitness assessments, nutrition and dietary counseling, paired with individually tailored personal training programs. In addition, acupuncture and medical massage therapy will also be some of the services offered. Each discipline has a licensed, certified or registered professional bringing years of experience to their respective fields.

The IWRC will focus on treating the patient as a whole, taking into consideration whether the patient requires a single discipline or a multi-disciplinary approach to wellness and preventive care meeting their individual needs. Cardiovascular and fitness assessments use a variety of methods such as treadmill and step tests, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, bioelectrical impedance analysis; and in the near future, using VO2 max testing for advanced athletic assessments.

These assessments will be followed-up with a comprehensive exercise program and on-going evaluations to monitor overall health improvements. Dietary and nutritional programs will be tailored as necessary, maximizing the efficiency of all programs to give patients the best possible outcome potential.

Acupuncture can be used as a complimentary treatment for a myriad of health issues such as chronic pain, recurring headaches, stress relief, addiction, chemotherapy induced nausea , irritable bowel syndrome or insomnia, just to name a few.

Medical massage treatments will range from Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Isometics and Ortho-Bionomy. Ortho-Bionomy is a modality which works with body structure, utilizing subtle body movements and positioning for muscles and nerves in order to bring about positive change and balance. Medical Massage is recognized as an effective treatment regimen for most muscular and joint-related pain issues, alleviation of stress and to encourage relaxation.

Patients seen at San Antonio’s newest wellness facility compliment the efforts of their primary care or specialty care physician.

Educational or treatment programs will be designed to uniquely cater to the needs of the patient; assisting the patient to meet pre-set personal goals or those prescribed by the patient’s primary or specialty care physicians.

Care can be coordinated with the patient or the prescribing physician’s office allowing clinical or assessment data to be used for monitoring progress and expected successful outcomes.

For those who seek services independent of their physician’s offices can be seen and treated in the same manner as those who have been physician-referred. Assessment data will be given to the patient in an effort to educate them about their program, helping them to recognize potential health and wellness risks and allow for altered behavioral patterns in an effort to encourage success at the very highest level.

Come in and give the Integrative Wellness & Research Center a try. With your commitment and our expertise we can design a program to put you or your patient on track to become the healthiest person possible.
